Shut Down by Nature! The Time of the Planet Returns 2019
Another year WWF invites us to turn off the lights to demonstrate our commitment to a more sustainable planet.
History of The Time of the Planet
The first time the Planet was celebrated was in Sydney on March 31, 2007 and was a resounding success; The germ of the largest global mobilization campaign against climate change. What started in a single city has spread to dozens of countries. In 2011 were 5,250 cities of 135 different countries and 10 years after that first seed were involved in the campaign thousands of cities in 187 different countries, quenching more than 12,000 monuments. This year is expected to beat a new record to show that the wave of awareness of global warming is much more potent than we think.
